Gsbs Kiltan

Gsbs Kiltan is located in Kiltan, North, Kiltan Panchayath, Amini, Lakshadweep. Established in year 1963, the school is a Co-educational and is located in Rural area. This is a Upper Primary school and is currently operational. The school is managed by Department of Education. It is located in Lakshadweep assembly constituency. The first mode of communication is Malyalam in the school but English is also spoken during classes.

The institution has around five hundred students studying being taught by around 19 teachers, thus making the student-teacher ratio of 21 students per teacher. Sixteen teachers are appointed on Regular basis and rest three are appointed on Contract basis. Eight teachers are Male and remaining eleven are Female. In terms of Academic qualification nine teachers are Below Graduate, four are Graduate and rest six are Post Graduate. Five teachers are trained in Computer. The student classroom ratio is 31:1, means on an average thirty one students sit in a classroom which is very good. There are 60 kids in pre primary, 179 students in class I to V and 168 students in class VI to VIII.

The school is in a Govt. building and it has no boundary walls. The school has total thirteen clasrooms and ten other rooms. The school has both internet facility and DTH facility for students. The school has one laptop, five desktops, two printers, two LEDs and one digiboard in its premises. There is both reading corner and library for students. There are fourteen boys toilets, seven girls toilets and two cwsn toilets for students. The school has both hand wash facility and drinking water facility for people.
