Marpaling School

Marpaling School is located in Shundey, Shandey, Stongday, Zanskar, Kargil, Ladakh and was established in year 2000. The school is a Co-educational and is located in Rural area. This is a Upper Primary school and is currently operational. The school is managed by Private Unaided (Recognized). It comes under Zanaskar 50 assembly constituency. The language used to teach students is English but Hindi is also spoken during classes.

This institution teaches around two hundred students and has recruited total 12 teachers, which makes the student-teacher ratio of 15 students per teacher. All of the teachers are appointed on Contract basis. Seven teachers are Male and remaining five are Female. In terms of Academic qualification four teachers are Below Graduate, five are Graduate and rest three are Post Graduate. None of the teachers are trained in Computer. The student classroom ratio is 18:1, means on an average eighteen students sit in a classroom which is very good. There are 44 kids in pre primary, 90 students in class I to V and 49 students in class VI to VIII.

The school is in a private building and it has barbed wire fencing. The school has total ten clasrooms and four other rooms. The school has both internet facility and DTH facility for students. The school has four laptops, four desktops, one scanner, three printers, one webcam and three generators in its premises. There is reading corner, library and book bank for students. There are four boys toilets and four girls toilets for students. The school has both hand wash facility and drinking water facility for people.
