Higher Secondary School Chanigound

Higher Secondary School Chanigound is located in Chanigound, Chanigund, Kargil, Ladakh and was established in year 1986. The school is a Co-educational and is located in Rural area. This is a Higher Secondary school and is currently operational. It's affiliated with State Board for class-X & class-XII exams. The school is managed by Department of Education. It is located in Kargil 49 assembly constituency. The medium of instructions is English in the school but Urdu is also spoken during classes.

The institution teaches around three hundred students being taught by around 19 teachers, which makes the student-teacher ratio of 14 students per teacher. All of the teachers are appointed on Regular basis. Thirteen teachers are Male and remaining six are Female. In terms of Academic qualification two teachers are Below Graduate, five are Graduate and rest twelve are Post Graduate. Three teachers are trained in Computer. The student classroom ratio is 43:1, means on an average forty three students sit in a classroom which is good. There are 257 students in class IX to XII.

The school is in a Govt. building and it has barbed wire fencing. The school has total six clasrooms and five other rooms. The school has both internet facility and DTH facility for students. The school has one laptop, three desktops, one tablet, one scanner, three printers, one LED and one generator in its premises. There is reading corner, library and book bank for students. There are one boys toilet and two girls toilets for students. The school has both hand wash facility and drinking water facility for people.
