Sikkim is one of the twenty eight States of India spread in an area of 7.1 thousands square kilometers. Its population is 6.1 lakhs which includes urban population of 1.5 lakhs and rural population of 4.6 lakhs. The sex ratio of Sikkim is eight hundred ninety females per 1000 males.

It is divided into six districts, eighteen sub-distrcits and thirty three blocks. There are 1.4 thousands schools, 232 hospitals, 171 ATMs, 164 banks, 209 post offices in Sikkim.
